Crayon DK Cotton Boucle Yarn Eight 50 gram balls per bag

3 colors available:  orange, red, and yellow

This is a bright and cheerful soft boucle yarn of pima cotton.  It's great for so many summer projects.  I used Crayon for the Craft Hope washcloth project. It took one ball or maybe a bit more to make a standard sized washcloth, depending on your tension and finishing technique. They were super soft, flexible, and durable.  Crayon is also great for other home decor projects and for the kiddos. The listing includes yarn info, gauge, etc.  There are 8 balls in each bag. In the garden of knitting ...

This week is already turning out to be a litte too hectic and a bit disorganized through no desire of my own. However, knitting still seems to happen around life,  and I'll have a new free knit pattern for you on Thursday to celebrate my birthday, so stay tuned.  Meanwhile, new ready to wear items will be added to my shop, margknittinaround very soon.

The work life has been seriously getting in my knitting way, lately, but I did want to remind you to mark your calendars for the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival at the Howard County Fairgrounds in West Friendship, MD. Some of your favorite vendors are attending, along with sheep shearing, food, classes, and demos. Go early and stay late...there's plenty of parking for cars and buses and it's totally FREE!  Good, right?  Thought you might agree.  I've been going for several years, and it's one of my favorite fiber events.  Try to go early though, because it really gets crowded.You can download the festival flyer here.

This event is family and fiber friendly. They do ask that you leave the doggies and other pets home, however.

Original Savannah Chunky Slouch Hat and Scarf from

 Knit Knitavian Style

Here's my Savannah Chunky Hat and Scarf from Knit Knitavian Style made with Rowan Ribbon Twist for Michelle's birthday.  I made this version less slouchy and more fitted for her.

(Note: hat is folded in half in the picture) The orginal project in the book was made with LionBrand Hometown USA in Savannah Sage.  The gauge was slightly different for the Rowan Twist so you will have to go up or down with your needles.  Be sure and knit a gauge swatch before beginning your knit project, unless the pattern indicates otherwise.

Spend a little time with your unfinished projects this week.  They miss you.

The SoHo Saturday Scarf is a nice light weight, yet warm scarf.  Grab the knit pattern from Knit Knitavian Style.  I wore this to Sotterly Plantation and was excited to see many of the colors in my scarf were also in the garden.
