Blooming Books!

Ok, I'm trying this again.  Looks like my computer is back!

Fresh air, singing birds, and showers are in the forecast.  It's definitely Spring.  I'd like to share some of my favorite books and magazines for the season that will motivate, keep you healthy, and help you with your Spring knitting project options.

First off, is Alecia Silverstones, the kind diet.  Diet is used as a noun folks!  ("a way of living, or thinking, a day's journey" as Alecia explains)  It's delightfully written, has yummy recipes, great eco-friendly tips, and you will want to add more good foods to your meals immediately.  She has a website, TheKindLife packed with help and information. One of the things I like most is that it's a fresh approach to the age old problem of encorporating the good foods and avoiding the bad stuff.  There's no judgement - it's kind, afterall.  Alecia has been on the journey for awhile and knows the ups and downs.  It's a new season, new food options, energy for knitting, it's all good.  You might also enjoy this months article in Natural Solutions where Alecia joyfully shares her enthusiasm for the earth, animals, and the journey to becoming healthy and vibrant.  Hooray!  You won't be able to read fast enough.

ROCK THE KNIT/CROCHET!

A couple of new issues just out will leave you inspired and ready to Rock the Knit and Crochet!

knitsimple (Holiday 08) issue is pretty in pink with really fast, fun patterns. You will want to check out knits+that section on pages 6 and 8 for the latest gizmos for the happy knitter and hooker. There is something for everyone in this issue, including adorable sweaters, hats and bags for the kids! Great fun in this issue.

Belle Armoire Art to Wear (Sept/Oct 08) always leaves me breathless. Crocheters will be delighted and doin' the happy dance over this issue which includes an incredible interview with Susan Obrant starting on page 11 and an array of inspiring quotes regarding her process, crochet and gorgeous designs that are colorful, edgy, and fabulous!

It's back to nature in an article by Jess Nichole - Nature's Enchanted Whimsy, an Eco Chic Halter Dress design and so much more. There are also other crafts included in the issue, although I definitely consider the whole issue art.

I hope you will reach for these issues on the stand or order them online and be taken to another world of knitting, crochet, art, crafts - basically nirvana for your creative side.
