Spot the knits...

We recently saw the latest Sherlock Holmes movie, A Game of Shadows and I was captivated by the knit scarf worn by Watson.  If you get a chance to see the movie, keep your eyes open for knitted items here and there.  The books were a favorite of my Dad's and were some of the first stories ever read to me. I always enjoy seeing the stories on tv or in movies.

Here's a little article on the Winter Solstice from Earthyreport.com for 2011 that you might enjoy.

Happy holidays to you and remember to spot a knitted item or two wherever you go.  It's good luck.

Savvy knitting references on the brain?

Are you obsessed with knitting references in television and movies? This site will thrill you! AngelHairYarn has a comprehensive list for you. You can also add to the list if you have your savvy knitting references on the brain and want to share them.

Another cool site is VickieHowell's blog, Movie Monday series.

And of course, I will be racing to blog here as soon as I encounter a knitting or crochet reference...because, as you know, I acknowlege my obsessions, as it is the first step to recovery.

Embrace your knitworthy thoughts and obsessions.

Knitwear Adventures Ahead!

Bookmark and Share

We just returned from seeing the movie UP and I was thrilled to see knitwear on some of the characters. You will see knitwear on young Ellie and Carl, and the adventurer Charles Muntz. This movie is great for big kids as well as the little ones, so I hope you go see this one and soak up the knitty adventure.

Need a quick parental review? Check it here.

Have a wonderful adventure this weekend.

KNITTING GOES 3D!

The knit artist Althea Crome (Bugknits), known for her miniature knitting, has created magic in the movie Coraline. I especially love the blue pullover with stars. Can you spot the knitted items in the trailer? The movie is based on a fantasy horror book by Neil Gaiman for young adults...now on my Amazon favs widget ;) Check it!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Go Steelers!
