Crafty Charity Care

Annie's Gifts  for Chemo on Ravelry.com

This week, I finished a couple of more items (fingerless gloves and slippers) to go along with the Cancer Awareness Scarf for October.  I attached care instructions and a note to the recepient.(not shown)

Join in the group on Ravelry.com or contact Kathleen Greco at JellyYarns.com for more information about the items you can make for a patient in need of your creative care. Btw, Kathleen is the winner of the Fearless Leader Flamie Awards 2011. Congrats!
Be sure and visit the group flckr page! and check out her interview here on knit1fortheroad,

I hope you will continue to allow hand crafted items to lift the spirit.  Surround yourself with them, share them, and encourage others to do the same.

Looking forward to a busy weekend with knitting or crocheting in between the subtle lines of life.

Margaret (reading and knitting between the lines since .....)

Monday Madness Share for Annie's Gifts for Chemo

Breast Cancer Awareness Scarf going to Annie's Gifts for Chemo on Ravelry.com
If you're already a member of Ravelry, visit the group directly, here.

This past weekend was a whirlwind of knitting, crochet and some time on the road enjoying the sights and sounds of Autumn...and, yes, I'll admit to some pumpkin spice delights. As a result, Monday has me scurrying to get caught up with work, but I wanted to share with you a scarf I recently finished for the group Annie's Gifts for Chemo on Ravelry.com, while I was traveling.

This week, I hope to have a couple of new items added to the shop... needles crossed.

Thanks to everyone who tweeted or shared that you knit and/or crocheted on I Love Yarn Day! and this weekend.  It's not too late to tweet, share, or comment here if you participated and help spread your love of yarn.

Margaret (enjoying Autumn goodness)

Annie's Gifts for Chemo

These items were made for Annie's Gifts for Chemo on Ravelry.com and founded by Kathleen Greco of Jelly Yarns

Nicole's Neckwarmer, Creating The Hive Spring Challenge: Spring Tootsie Warmers, and Spring Fling Wristlets.

My favorite thing that I enjoyed about making these items is that it was a chance to create something different for the patients.  This group needs an array of items, so please contact Kathleen if you would like to create something from your heart for these brave people.  They will not be sending chemo caps because the hospital already receives them.

You can follow Kathleen on Twitter for updates.  If you'd like to participate, please join us on Ravelry if you would like to knit or crochet small items or contact Kathleen for details if you create small jewelry items, for example.

Thank you Kathleen for inspiring all of us with your efforts.

Margaret (always amazed by the power of open hearts)
