Resolute or not so much?

Auld Lang SyneAuld Lang Syne MP3 Download

This year we seem to be in a place where maybe we need a pass on any resolutions that we might not be able to keep, as it could lead to tossing our old unfinished knitting projects to the side or consuming too much chocolate, chips and dip during SuperBowl season.  However, if you're one of those courageous knitters who wants to try - go for it!  Here's a look at some Knitting New Year's Resolutions from the past on this blog.  How did you do?

New year, new knitting resolutions!

My hope is that you will all knit and crochet joyfully into 2011, either way.

This will be my last blog for 2010.  Don't forget to wave your hooks and needles at midnight.

Cheers!

Crafting and knitting it forward made all the difference...

Just in time for Christmas!

I rec'd this lovely quilled craft it forward gift from Joanscrafts on Etsy a few days before Christmas. It looked beautiful on our tree, thank you Joan!  Do stop by Joan's shop and check out all of her lovely items.

I'd also like to encourage you to visit my friend, Christine's, new shop called Needle2Needle.  Christine was the first online person to interview me after my first pattern book, Knit 1 for the Road was published.  You can catch the interview here.  Visit here for updates on her classes and on Facebook

I hope you all are surviving the cold, snow, rain and travel delays in knitting style.  Keep your knitty and crafty friends close.

Knitting things I'm loving ...

Handy scissors to knit and snip with in 2011.  They come in assorted colors, too- Yay!

The Messenger Bag from NamasteInc is sleek, professtional and also great for storing your take along knitting.  It comes in black and peacock.

Have you checked out this article from Interweave's
Kathleen Cubley?

Quick, knitty and just in time for another fabulous year of knitting.

I'd like to say, I'll be blogging again before Christmas, but there is a possiblility of actually getting caught up in the spirit of Christmas and spending more time with family.  If I don't get a chance to pop in and get bloggy - I'd like to wish you all a wonderful and safe holiday.

Back to your regularly scheduled festivities!

Merry Margaret!

Dreams of tall gingerbread man and lunar sightings dance through the night...

A little bit of life goes a long way to derail your regularly scheduled blog posting.  While I get caught up, and continue to create your  free pattern for January, please enjoy these festive links to put you in the holiday happy mood.

The Lunar Eclipse was beautiful last night.  I've always been an astronomy geek since childhood and to see this beautiful event on the December Solstice was a delight.  We took some pics, but I haven't had a chance to check them out yet - if there are any that came out well enough, I will share them with you.  In the mean time, do check out the slideshows here and here.

Ever wonder what the world's tallest gingerbread man would look like? View the article here.

Keep those needles clicking - Santa Knit is watching!

Are you ready for the parade of the gingerbread houses?

Last weekend, Dave and I went to see a Gingerbread House exhibit and competition to put us in a holiday mood. Adults and children participated in this yearly event.  Thought you might like to see some of the pics.
Keep knitting!

What do flying saucers, yarn, and socks have in common?

A fun new product from Skacelknitting.com, Schoppel Wolle Flying
Saucer Yarn, has arrived for all the avid sock knitters.  Yep! It's sockalish, you see, because this yarn is injection dyed by hand in a double ply yarn...and because of that, you will have identical pairs of socks when you're done. You can knit them up easily at the same time with no worries.  I know!  It's magically delish.

Wait 'til you see the video at JimmyBeansWool.  Check out all the  details, yarn calculator, sock patterns, etc.

Keep your knitting warm,
Margaret (circling the constellation of Yarnigan- you look pretty knitty from here)
