The element of air in your knitting life...

This week has been a little (okay, a lot) hectic with the shop, quick travels, squeezing in new projects and juggling charity items... and a few surprises along the way.  It's been a week of new friends and old friends coming into my life.  All in all, an interesting time and many events coming full circle.  This sudden activity made me think of the element of Air.  Air is connected to the soul and the breath of life.  It's associated with communication, wisdom and the power of your mind. Need a little air therapy? Picture your worries moving away on a gentle wind, receive and send positive thoughts and prayer, and express the element of Air with the colors yellow and white. Open your windows, venture outside today and enjoy the quality of air.  Breathe deep and consider incorporating the feeling into your daily routine, exercise, crafty moments, and understanding of the world around you.

Gentle reminder part of the blog...As with any pattern, please remember to read the directions before you begin, follow the guidelines, gauge, and respect copyright restrictions. If you have to substitute yarn always choose yarn of similar weight for best results.  But, you knew all that...you're sooo knitty.

I may be taking a break from blogging tomorrow.  Max ( my puppy) discovered a small tumor on the top of my head (of all places) a few weeks ago and it has to be removed.  No biggy, but just a little uncomfortable.  Normally, I would just keep this kind of tmi thing to myself, but the amazing part of all this is the persistent pawing and checking that Max did to let me know something was up and I better check it out.  Pay attention to your pets and marvel at their capacity for love and devotion... and for constantly wondering...what's up with that?

The Autumn Harmony Cowl is knit with 3 strands of beautiful, soft and festive BessieMay yarn Snug (2 colors) and Hug on US Size 17 (12mm) straight knitting needles.  It's rated Easy- Basic knowledge of knitting required.

Time to De Poof!

While I was evacuated during Irene, I scooped up the latest VogueKnitting Fall 2011, and poof, there it was, Wope...the woolen jute based cord that I've been hoping for all of my accessory filled dreamlife. There's even a cool free pattern, (this is where the De Poof part of the blog starts to kick in big time) to go along with over 17 cool colors that will keep your US size 35 knitting needles clicking.  The pattern is designed by Tina Maat-Kristensen at Pollika.com. Created by De Witte Engel, it's the perfect weight for so many items that need that extra umph.  I feel new possibilities coming on...
