Knitting Winter 2017

This Coffee Shop Wrap by Alexandra Tavel,  really caught my eye. It's a dreamy casual wrap pattern free from Lion Brand Yarn.  I'm in a less frigid climate right now and this fits the bill for me. Needles are ready.

If you're in a cooler climate, discover some cozy and fabulous wraps (and more) for cold weather Download Red Hearts Free ebook, A Year of 3 Colorful Ways for more info.

Happy Winter Knitting wherever you are in this big beautiful world.

More happy to you in 2017,
Margaret

October 1rst crafty delights...

Tomorrow is the first day of October.  Can you believe how quickly September flew by?  Start off October with a  free knit pattern from my website, knit1fortheroad.com:

Falling leaves, crisp cool air, and harvest blessings are signs of the Autumn season. Knit these lacy, Celtic inspired, wrist warmers on two needles. As with any knit pattern, always remember to check your gauge, substitute yarn of similar weight for best results and respect the copyright instructions.

Looking for a crafty event in the DC area this weekend?  Check out the Crafty Bastards Arts and Crafts Fair.  This event is chock full of crafting demos, entertainment, super vendors, the Etsy Booth. You will not be disappointed.

Looking for an online Crafty Community?  You're invited to CreatingTheHive, the spookyliscious place to be for October.

Enjoy the festive times ahead,
Margaret

Uncommonly upcycle...

It's Tuesday, sunny with just enough of a chill and I'm surfing the web for an upcycle project, while simultaneously putting my tax receipts in a slo-mo holding pattern.

Are you with me?  Check out the upcycle projects that await your attention.

Upcycled Knitting Envelope Tutorial from the fabulous Kala on her blog, Vegancraftastic.

Newspaper, Plastic Bags, Dog Hair...Upcycle Them into Yarn from CraftStylish member, Matt Embrey.

Upcycled Crochet Washcloth, as seen on Knitting Daily TV, Episode 611.  You will need to join or sign in (it's free) to the site to download patterns.

Sweater Potholders can be found at Uncommon Goods for those of you who would like to bypass project mode and go straight for the purchase to support the upcycle movement.  While you're there, take time to read the brief product story.

Are you starting to look at your old sweaters in a new way?
