Please take a moment to read about and sign the petition from The National Breast Cancer Coalition: Breast Cancer Deadline 2020, to end of breast cancer by Jan. 1, 2020.

Visit your doctor and make and keep an appointment for a mammogram.  Check your insurance provider if you have one.  The laws have changed in the US and they are required to provide more preventitive care, including mammograms. Hooray! Today, I'd like to give a big thanks and a hug to Teresita Valadez of Hearts of Love on Ravelry.com for her wonderful Knitting Members Cozy Corner and Anchors Away News of the Day posts about Knit Knitavian Style.  Teresita and the group are the featured Ravelry charity in the book. Teresita had not seen the galley's before her book arrived.  I was delighted to see that Teresita really took time to go over the entire book and enjoyed not only the cover, patterns, articles, and interviews, but the true message of joy, love, and inspiration that is a big part of what I was trying to accomplish with this project. 

The most valuable lesson I learned from this entire process, which consumed a little over a year of my life, is that no matter what the obstacles, challenges, disappointments and unexpected setbacks, the true message of the hard work and creativity shine through in the end.  I raise my needles to all of you who get the message and am thankful to all the wonderful people who have stepped forward to contribute, help, console, consult, become Joyful Knitters and be a part of the adventure.

If you're struggling with your creative project right now, take a moment to whisper...I'm ready for my helpers to come forward. You might also want to try my all time favorite. Send help now!  Keep your sense of humor, enjoy your friends, hold your creative head high and be grateful for all you've accomplished.

Captivating Chemo Caps

Hearts of Love Group,  and beyond!

I'm so excited to try new yarns that are soft and chemo cap friendly.  This batch of caps is made with Lion Brand Cotton Ease, Caron Simply Soft Shadows and Red Heart Buttercup.  I've used the Cotton Ease through the summer months for soft, cool, durable and easy to clean caps.  It's so versatile, you could continue to use it all year round depending on the climate you're living in.  Caron Simply Soft Shadows knits and crochets easily, super soft and feels nice against the skin.  A perfent yarn to move into the fall season.  Buttercup is thick and full of fun.  It reminds me of cotton candy minus the sugar rush and remorse.

Give a little, gain so much more than you could ever imagine.  Continue to share the love of knitting/crochet wherever you roam.

Caps for Caleb

A note for all my knitting friends.

I'm slowly catching up from a busy weekend at KnittersConnection and a little Maryland history day at St Mary's (there was spinning and yarn, people).  I have pics and interesting knitty info for you this week as well as info on a new featured project at Hearts of Love on Ravelry.com called Caps for Caleb. I'll also have some pics of some of the projects I've had on my needles this week for CraftHope Project 8. 

Been so long...okay, only since last Wed, but I'm back and ready to knit, laugh and blog.
