Sock knitting for Spring!

I've had this mad desire to clean and reorganize house, car, and office, and most of all yarn stash.  The sock yarn has called out to me and I'm into the sock knitting zone lately.  I feel that some of you might also have sock knitting fever so here are some great sock patterns, books, and yarn to dive into.  Sock knitting is also super portable for traveling, baseball games, and poolside - you get the idea. Yarns come in all weights and fibers, including cotton blends which are nice for this time of year. It's a good idea to follow the recommended yarns in your pattern and to most of all enjoy creating them.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone!  They have definitely helped me to a speedy recovery.  I'm happy to say that I'm off the crutches and getting back to normal...whatever that is!  Today, I wanted to take a few moments to share some sites that caught my eye.  This season always brings out the crafty charity in our hearts, so why not indulge in a crafty good time for ourselves and for charity.  It's a great way to heal the heavy hearts that we all share after the recent events.  Make something special, share it and bring a little joy into someone's life this season.

Recently, I started a new pair of comfy socks made with Donna Seex's Bettie Sock Superwash Merino in Island in the Sun from her lovely Etsy shop Skeindalous. Don't you just love the name? I'm using a toe up version sock pattern (Try the free knit pattern:Beginner Socks for Magic Loop Toe-Up Version from Liat Gat at KNITFreedom.com.Socks make such wonderful projects to knit anytime really, but especially when you're traveling.   It's a very theraputic experience to knit, enjoy the scenery and take a break from work...

Do you ever go-go-go and then start feeling under the weather?  Me too!  I've been a little run down with a really bad throat thing since the weekend.  Herbal therapies and rest seem to be helping. I've still been working on knitting projects and patterns. I like to call it knitting therapy.

Molly, fully recoverd from surgery and prancing around ValleyForge over the holiday weekend. Hat and fingerless gloves are featured in Knit Knitavian Style.

During the holiday weekend, Dave and I took a few side trips.  I did want you to see that I actually wear what I make. Fresh from the You Are What you Knit Department...is a pic from Valley Forge where I'm wearing the Savannah Chunky Slouch Hat and the Delicate Desire Fingerless Glove (both from Knit Knitavian Style).  There are also plenty of Spring/Summer knit patterns, interviews, resources, fun articles and inspiration to keep you knitting all year round.
 
More to come! 
I'm working on some fun new projects in the coming months...more knitty travels and a serious time management overhaul- lol. Hey, it's on my to do list, I have to at least give it a try.
