If you have a chance to go to the Hillwood Museum and Gardens- GOoooo! You will not believe your eyes. There is an extensive collection of French and Russian goodies that will make your eyes pop with wonder and awe. It's a very unusal museum in that the original owner of the home, Marjorie Merriweather Post, enjoyed sharing her collection with many guests and there is still the feeling that she is there and excited to see that you've come to her home. The home was enjoyed, lived in and guests are encouraged to learn about the wonderful collection of art, porcelain, and history surrounding each item. The gardens are also beautiful. If you're ever in the DC area, I highly recommend spending some time there...and be sure to take the tour by one of the interesting and dedicated guides so that you get the full scoop and feel of the place.
