Swirl and swing, explore and imagine...

Happy belated 4th of July to all in the U.S.  We were lucky enough to have a nice fireworks celebration here to top off the holiday weekend.  Today, I'm getting back into the blogging groove and wanted to start with a swirl of creative goodness that I encountered over the weekend.  Let me assure you that knitting and crocheting was also going on behind the scenes.  Consider a swirl or two in your next needlework project.  They can be open, closed or intersecting swirls, tight and knotted, or loose and liquid...this is uniquely your exploration adventure.

Where is your special refuge?

The best times can sometimes be close to home.  A patio, porch or yard can be a great refuge for you, your needlework and nature.  Windows with a view of the street or park are also favorites of mine.  Here are a few pics from my refuge, the backyard, taken on an overcast day and right before a rain shower.  Enjoy.

Lately, I've had my mind on some genealogy research and have been amazed by some of the abbreviations  that I encounter.  I've also had a fascination with the number three for many years, maybe because I'm the third child. My love of wordplay and abbreviations for things comes from my Dad and my husband, Dave.
